My mum doesnt let me wear makeup or shave my legs!Does anyone know a way to get her to let me do these things?

There is makeup called BareMinerals that you can match perfectly to your skin tone. It's so light and natural that you can't even tell that you are wearing makeup, but it gets rid of blemishes, redness, and other flaws. It goes on so light it doesn't even feel like you have anything on, but it makes your skin look amazing! Here's the site: http://www.bareminerals.com

As for shaving, there several options:

1.) Use Veet hair removal cream. I have it and it works great. It doesn't burn at all, and it comes with a tool to remove the hair, but it's not a razor blade, so it's perfectly safe.

2.) Use either the Finishing Touch or the Body Touch. They also tools that remove hair without blades or even hair removal cream. I used both of them and they worked really well.My mum doesnt let me wear makeup or shave my legs!Does anyone know a way to get her to let me do these things?
I had the same problem! Except I could wear makeup. But anyway, I couldn't shave and it's SO embarrasing because you know you need to! Sometimes they just don't want to face the fact you're maturing. Anyway, my mom just finally said it'd be okay because it was almost summer and I had a baton twirling camp to go to and I'd be wearing a lot of shorts. She made me start out with that Nair stuff though. It smells but it works! Instead of Nair though I suggest Veet. It doesn't smell! You just rub it on, wait, then wipe it off and ta-da! No hair! So here's a plan: While you're walking through some store, make sure you get on an aisle with Nair, Veet, or shaving stuff. Casually point to one of the Nair or Veet bottles and say ';Ohh, whats that? How does it work?'; You know, stuff like that. After she explains ask if you can try it. Good luck!My mum doesnt let me wear makeup or shave my legs!Does anyone know a way to get her to let me do these things?
Yeah everybody is right 13 is a good age I knew someone who is just about thirteen and she was already shaving her legs. The makeup thing maybe you should start at age 16 or older try it once if your that old.
Prove to her that you are mature enough to do these things. I think girls should be allowed to shave their legs when entering middle school. Girls should be allowed to wear a little makeup when they are in middle school also but only maskara, lipgloss, and blush..that sort of thing. Just make sure your mother knows that you can be responsible with the makeup and shaving your legs.
She just prob. dont want u 2 grow up.
I really think with make up it depends on your age. As far as shaving , if you have embarrasing visible hair I would hope your mom would reconsider. It's hard enough growing up. Talk to her and let her know how you feel. I'm sure if she knew how you felt she may change her mind. Warm weather is here and I would hate to see you embarrased to wear shorts. Good Luck.
You didn't mention your age. But, hats off to your mom. Someone has some guts in this world.
i made a deal that for each age i turn,i get a specal previlaga like waxing eyebrows, shaving, hairdye, peircing, etc.

or raise up your grades.that makes you seem more responsible and another reason why she should treat you.
The sooner you shave your legs, the more often you will have to shave them for the rest of your life!!!! Hold out as long as possible and perhaps suggest something like mineral type makeup so your enhanced not all colored....
how old are you?
It depends on your age. Seriously but, put off shaving for as long as possible, coz once you start you can't ever ever stop. It is a curse!!! Word of advice to you, never shave your legs, get your Mum to take you to the beautician and get a wax. May be a little uncomfortable the first time but much easier and less fussy than shaving, with better longer lasting results.
Sit down and discuss it with her, you did not mention how old you are, I think 11 is old enough to start shaving your legs and under arms.

13 light make-up, just a touch of lip gloss

15 all other make up
Okay first of all it depends on your age. But I started shaving when I was 12-13 because I needed to.

So here's a way to go about it.

Sit down and talk to your mom, tell her you feel uncomfortable with the hair on your legs and you want her to show you how to shave so that you don't feel awkward. If she says it doesn't matter what others think, express to her that it's not what others think but its what you think and feel, plus if you get the hang of it now, you'll have less nicks when it's more important for your legs to be shaved.

Second, as to makeup that is a tough one. I wouldn't wear foundation until you need to, but maybe talk to her letting her know that you would like to wear subtle things. For instance, you could use tinted moisturizer. It's very subtle, keeps your skin healthy with moisturizer but isn't too thick.

Then you could wear very light shimmery eyeshadows and lip gloss, if you do things like this, it won't look like your being too old for your age but just becoming more mature.

Makeup may be a hard one for you to sell. I know I was about 14 when I started wearing it. Try to sympathize with her and when she was that age, how she felt.

Good luck, and remember if she says no, don't sneak it, it'll make her not trust you. Just bide your time and talk to her again.
beg show how disgustingly hairy ur legs r jkjk .....but seriously
It depends on how old you are.
First of all if you need your parents approval to do it then you probably aren't old enough to be doing it in the first place. If you are in junior high or high school you don't really need to wear make up it's not like you have anything to cover up, you are still young. I did start wearing make-up when I was in high school thought, although it's pointless, because there isn't anyone to impress. It's just high school.

Shaving your legs though....if you are in puberty just go to a drug store and buy a razor and shave your legs. You don't need to ask you mom. Heck, if she is so hell bent on your not shaving hide it somewhere or buy the disposible kind. Same thing with the make-up, you can buy cheap make-up from the drug store and if you mom gets mad she'll have to eventually get over it.

I dunno if you are a teen or what, but I think if you have to ask us how to let her do it then you must not be old enough. Teens usually just do things like that without asking their parents anyway.
I don't think there is a way to get her to let you do these things until she feels that you have reached an age to start, which doesn't seem like the case. Tell her you are embarrassed by your hairy legs and see how far that gets you. That's what I did and eventually my mother gave in. No one likes to see her daughter get made of fun of for something that can be avoided.
It depends on your age. If you're 13 or older, then you should because that's the stage of being a 'teen', and that you need to shave and/or wear makeup as a feeling of being older. Tell her that, and see if it works! :D Hope I helped...
It all depends on how old you are,

if you think your old enough to wear make-up

do it, and shave your legs if you think your old enough,

if you feel comfortable doing that your mom shouldn't

stand in the way.
I had the same problem a few years back. I think that alot of moms are worried that their daughters will become makeup crazy and wear way too much, thus ending up looking like ... you know. When I was thirteen alot of my peers wore way too much makeup and I'm sure that led to the conclusion of how I would end up. So maybe if you convince her that you would only wear enough and etc., it might loosen her up. And on the shaving of legs thing, I can't really tell you how to get her to let you do that.
You neeed to tell her that that is what girls and women do and its only natural and with the make-up let her know that make up is just like an accessorie i look at make up like that whether its to bring your eyes out or to cover up a pimple it should be ok and i use my makeup to accessorize and to help bring out my outfit or to add a little sparkle to my face.
Yah, how old are you?
shaving your legs will make the hair grow longer and thicker. I never shave my legs, and the hair is short and very fine. U cant see it. As for make up, I would say natural beauty is the way to go. Keep your skin clean and healthy. Using too much make up will make you look older than you are. Just use face powder and lip gloss. I think you mom wouldnt mind that.
It depends how old you are.
how old are you?

honestly avoid shaving untill you actually have to. once you start to shave your legs the hair will grow back faster and thicker and darker aswell.

as for the make up. it might be against your religion.

if its not and you just have a stubborn mother try asking her if she'll do your make up for you....chances are she'll be flattered and help you.

if not then i think you should respect her wishes and put off wearing make up for now
if u r 13-14 do it , u dont need your mom permisiion
i started to shave my legs in 3rd grade. i only did it like once a month tho, it was mainly bcause my best friend also did that so i asked her and she decided i could. as for make-up i would hold off as long as u can. i only started to wear it because of blemishes. just sit down and talk to your mom and tell her that you think you are mature enough to do it. that worked for my mom
Tell her that you're being teased at school. :)) That's what my friend did and now she has monthly waxing sessions.
if your old enough to have hair then show her
yeah buddy.....juz do it once widout tellin her.....

da next time she wudnt dare to stop u!!!!
just do it
